BAB dissappear - what a surprise

As I am now aware that this is the site I should have come to when reclaiming my bank charges, I was wondering if anyone has an experience like this.

Like many I originally tried yonk ago to reclaim my charges using letter templates etc and of course this claim was put on hold while everyone was dragged through the court system.

A few months ago I began receiving calls from a company called BAB who claimed they could do this for me. As it was a couple of years since I put in my oringinal claim, and as they were so persistant, I thought 'what the hey' and gave them £50 to see what they could do.

Two weeks later the High Court made it's ruling in the banks favor - as we are all painfully aware.

'Hmm' I thought, 'I'll contact BAB and see what they have to say.

Well, the number for the Manchester office printed on the bottom of my welcome pack now comes back as an unrecognised number, the London number rings but no one picks up the phone.

So where have they gone? Has my £50 quid vanished in to thin air and was this just another example of another organisation exploiting the misfortune of others? Further more, as they were regulated by the Ministry of Justice (which they trumpeted whenever they called) isn't there anything I, or anyone else can do about this?

My feeling is 'justice my !!!!, I've been taken for a ride - again'. Anybody else experiencing this frustration?

You wrote letters and made a small claim in court?

What did you think a company you paying £50 to would do extra?

As you said, you "thought 'what the hey' and gave them £50 to see what they could do."

    So what's the problem now?

Someone a few threads down has paid over £1000 to one of these companies. You got off light.
