Hi hope someone can help.
We ordered an adjustable bed from a shop in Dundee on 21 November and they were offering 12 months interest free credit on the purchase. We paid a deposit by CC with the balance being dealt with on finance. We were told it would take 4 weeks before the bed could be delivered cos it was being made to order and when we asked when we would make our first monthly payment to finance, we were told by assistant 4 weeks after bed was delivered which would be January. Finance document was signed by my OH for 12 months at 110.94, and on Sat we have received documentation from finance company stating that payments will start on 16 Dec first payment being £111.03, then 11 payments of £110.93, which is different to original agreement. We have not been informed yet of a delivery date for the bed. I have contacted the store and spoke again to Sales asst, who again yesterday told me that there must be an error and I would not start paying for the bed until Jan, but she would get her area mgr to phone me. She (Area mgr) has eventually phoned back to say she has spoken to Mgng Director of company who are either going to try and defer first payment to Jan (they need approval from Finance Co) or they will pay half of first payment in Dec (£56), but there is still no date for delivery of the bed. I have not accepted either of this and have gone back and tried to get the company to pay first instalment as goodwill. What are my legal rights? Any help appreciated.
