Martin! new subject to be taught in schools?

Hi Martin, what about campaigning for schools to teach the rudiments of how central heating works and reading gas and electricy meters and how to work out gas and electricity bills:confused:?

I suppose water meters could be added as well.

Probably too late to start campaigning now to get reading gas & leccy meters.

By the time it gets any momentum the introduction of smart meters would be well on its way.

As for calculating bills, isn't that what we used to learn in arithmetic?

Then as we got older we learnt about heat transfer, and the basics of heating systems in physics.

Mind you, them were the days before the curriculum lost the emphasis on traditional subjects and became bogged down with the likes of Personal Health and Social Education, Citizenship, Humanities, etc

Yes, but first you have to teach them how to read :rotfl:
