Nice to see them getting paid a lot for doing very little. Disgraceful!
but still better than bankers who get paid huge amounts to screw up everything.

It's not as if we can excuse Ofgem's totally pathetic performance on the old adage: pay peanuts and you will get monkeys.

Absolutely typical we are paying through the nose for them to have pay rises too, theres an extra 40 grand for Lord Mogg there to start off with.
I always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got round to it...

yes but wait..one rule for them, another rule for others.

OFGEM is now trying to screw ordinary workers in the energy sector out of their hard earned pensions whilst helping themselves to Gold standard civil service pensions...shame on them..and shame on any government who allows this bunch to continue to ride the gravy train.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

The Budget Statement announced that the Utility companies will have to provide £300 million to fund social tariffs for the less well off.

The new subsidies for renewable energy for Solar PV or Turbines on your roof- Feed in Tariffs(FITs) (Darling stated these will average £900pa) will be paid for by a levy added to electricity prices.

Nice way to claim political credit - help for needy families and subsidies for renewable energy - which cost the Government - err nothing! It will be funded by the rest of us customers.

These measures will have an ever-increasing impact on the prices we pay - it is just another form of taxation.

That headilne really is quoting ofgem out of context!

A more balanced article than the "official MSE article" is here:

    What ofgem stated was:

Also despite the frequent cries that "our prices go up immediately when the wholesale prices rise, but don't follow them down" This graph is interesting!

    _46870981_energy_vs_gas_466.gif

    those figures are faked

    From the gas price index:-
    https://www.theice.com/marketdata/reports/ReportCenter.shtml
(select indices.....ICE futures europe...UK nat gas.

    month ______year __price
    January__ 02, 2004 31.87
    December 08, 2009 29.533

As you can see wholesale energy costs are below the startpoint in 2004.

OFGEM are run by criminals, just like the gas companies.
Toffs laying into the less well off? Surely not!! :naughty:

Perhaps you would like to comment on the facts above Cardew, so far your comments have just been a failed attempt at character assasination.

Let's see you comment on the facts, I know you don't want to, because they point out the reality of the energy firms profiteering.
As you can see customer bill have doubled yet the price the energy companies pay for gas has actually fallen.
    Explain that.
