AA- try another savings institution- they're horrendous

Hi, I would just like to draw your attention to the fact that although I followed advice given to invest some savings in the AA… I must let you know as well as anyone else who will listen that they are the worst financial institution to work with (and I have banked, saved and used many different institutions).
I have twice gotten my password details in correct and although I was able to on the same call fix this, I was unable to access my money (or close the account which is what I have been trying to do now for over a month) as each time you get it wrong you then need to have an access token sent out and restart the whole process again. Extremely time consuming, and it takes days to restart it all over again. Unfortunately because I have 3-4 passwords that I use consistently and (my fault) have forgotten to write it down, this is now the third (and last time) I will have to do the whole set up process again.
I would not bank with them as your money is not easily accessed – and my experience with them has not been good. If possible please advise your customers. I understand that they are looking out for their clients by being astringent with their security policies, however the resetting it all up again takes a minimum of 5 days until your letter comes through and you’re able to access your funds.
Not a happy customer with the AA
But love your website and read it diligently

Had an AA internet account for more than a year now with no problems.
If you habitually forget your password details and cause yourself to be locked out you only have yourself to blame.
AA savings (Birmingham Midshires) are simply implementing their security policy for the protection of your funds.0 -
What would you like the bank to do to improve the situation?0

Take some time to trawl through here and you'll find a post in this vein for just about every bank in existence.0

Not good idea. You have only have to have 1 company experience a breach and that's at least a quarter of your accounts wide open.I have 3-4 passwords that I use consistently
I realise you are stuggling to remember 3-4 passwords but you need more. I suggest using a program that stores them all encrypted on your PC (remember backups!).
I use this one:
http://keepass.info
It's not pretty but it is open source so I feel more confidient there is nothing nasty inside. Then you only have to remember 1 password, the one to open it.0 -
With keepass you don't even have to install the program on your PC. You can install it to a memory stick. I have two, one of which I store away from my house in case of disaster.0

Yes. Much better if when a 'customer' enters the wrong password they let him ring up and just tell him what it is over the phone - and re-set it at the same time.0 -
A very pointless complaint!0

100% agreed. All down to OP's fault. Most of the banks have procedures in place to avoid fradulent attempt to log in to anyone's account.
Imagine if you had an account with no limits on number of unsuccessful logins and then if some fraudester manages to log in using "brute force" attacks then i am sure OP would be first one to complain saying bank should have stopped this...
but then again when OP says "forgot to write down the password" that shows his/her attitude to security......0
