It could have been anything you had eaten upto 2 days before you ate 'the offending bleugh in a jar'.

Is it one single item per jar?

I assume HO -doesn't mean Home Office - can't see them being interested

  • OP if you go to your GP and tell them your concerns they will have to take a stool sample and send it away for analysis. In fact, if you work in a food environment you need to report to your occupational health officer who will organise this for you. Otherwise you need to report it to your local environmental health officer, who will also test a stool sample.

However, even if the stool sample shows a bug present, there is no guarantee that that bug found it's way into your system via the jar of morrisons food.

Also, sometimes when we are sick, it isn't because of contaminated food, there are lots of other things that can cause vomiting too.

Anyway, GP next stop for you I think.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Cant see the OP getting anywhere without analysing what was in the jar.
or proving that other people had eaten it and became ill.

It doesnt necessarily mean that the illness is brought on by something that is eaten. You can pick a bug up in a million different places during the course of a day, a toilet handle, picking up a bit off the floor, touching a milion things that you could ingest.

Just drink plenty of water and move on.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

sorry folks had to deal with visitors, the item is a small jar of crab spread. It is quite normal not unusual for me to only eat once a day . some days will have only sandwich (this is for the information of whoever it is who considers this relevant) . Thanks to all who have responded with the intention of solid advise i appreciate it and will take the remainder of the jar to department as directed.;)

My wife is violently ill when she eats any crab - the same crab doesn't have any effect on me - Love the stuff !

Hope your feeling better OP,good luck with getting the product tested---
just a thought, but are you aware the Norovirus(winter vomiting bug)is very very active at this time of year, might be best you get in touch with GP too-the virus can be detected in a stool sample.(just in case,as its highly infectious)
