Food poisoning morrrisons

not really too sure where to post this . bought item from Morrisons Friday ate Sat. evening and have been violently ill ever since. Rang the manager this am said it cannot come off the shelves as not company policy unless they get complaints nationwide. I think this disgusting but informed him wojuld be in touch with HO as this I feel is a public health issue . The item is sold in a jar and as I said to the manager I will be in touch with not only HO but public health. (know it was defo this food as ate nothing else). What next HO almost impossible to get to on the phone. anyone got a number to ring please. any help appreciated.

If you feel that the food was that bad, just take it to the Public Health Dept. of your council.

Have you still got the jar? If it hasn't been cleaned, it may be possible for some organisation to determine the problem from the remains.

I think you would need some of the product left for it to be tested - if you have this, then pop it over to the local environmental health dept of your council.

If you don't have remains, I don't see how it could be proven without an outbreak where several other people are also ill after eating.

Bear in mind that some food poisoning can take days to show symptoms, others can take just hours.

Some virus's have similar symptoms. Your doctor could test to see what you have I suppose?

Are you sure that you haven't eaten anything else within the incubation periods of various food poisoning causing organisms. Some can take up to 3 days to show symptoms! Similarly the symptoms of food poisoning are similar to some viruses. "I ate X and then started being ill" is not a scientific basis for binning a lot of stock!

    Please read the post again.

Have read it again, sorry if you have not got a sense of humour. It seems an overeaction to an item they ate.

The time they have spent posting their complaint could have been better used in finding out what the 'item' was
  • Usually on days when I only eat one item, it's because I'm already not feeling so well...

    It's only a game
