Ive kind of stuffed up!!!!!

Hi All,

I have sold a set of complete Twilight books via ebay. Posted them on the 25th November. Buyer has just told me he has not received them yet. Called Royal Mail they said if they have not been recieved after 15 working days I can claim a refund of teh items posted. BUT I can not find my proof of postage, im such an idiot.

Do I have any other options other than refunding the buyer his money????? Do i wait 15 working days before doing this.

Thanks all.

I’m back and more determined than ever!!!!!

If the buyer says they didn't arrive and you have no tracking such as recorded then your going to have to refund the money. If they opened a dispute case then they would find in the sellers favour. I would wait 15 days just to make sure they don't turn up.
As for refund from Royal Mail without proof of postage there is no way to get your money back as how can you prove you sent it? Just chalk it up to experience and make sure you get proof of postage in future!

Trying to get a buyer to wait 15 days before you refund is pushing it, It may effect your feedback if you string them along too much.
  • Don't beat ourself up over it, we have all done it, funnily enough why is it the only time any of us ever loses a proof of posting is for the item that goes missing.

Your only option is to refund them, generally if you are prompt and don't make refunding for the lost item a big issue then then buyer will usually leave you good feedback along the lines of your honesty.

Send them a polite and friendly e-mail asking them to consider paying for the item if it shows up, most people are honest enough that they will, providing you don't drag out the refund process, just take it on the chin and learn from your mistake.
