What if solicitor runs away with my deposit???

Solicitors have two separate accounts an Office A/c and a Client A/c. In addition their may be a designated client account, ie relating specifically to your deposit. If the money is in a designated a/c then the client must be paid all the interest that accrues.
For moneys held in the general client a/c see here0 -

I'm wondering that what if my solicitor runs away with my deposit to the seller. Is there any organization that I can claim it from? Is it Lawyer Society?
I've been trying to find out some info for a while but I couldn't find information about this.
Many thanks in advance.
My advice would be to chill out a bit.....:cool:0 -
Oh I asked my solicitor this question in the most polite way I could muster! She looked quite shocked! Basically she said that your solicitor has to keep your money in a client account and that the firm's reputation would be ruined if they ever were thought to be doing anything illegal and it would never be worth a solicitor's reputation.0
