Help on cracked tiles on fireplace needed please

We have a lovely victorian real fireplace but unfortunately a couple of tiles are cracked. We don't want to remove the fireplace we just want to try and make the cracks less visible. Has anyone got any ideas what is the best method or what we can use. The tiles are a cream colour.

Thanks for reading.

Was going to suggest the removal and replacement but quite a job for just that. Does it look stupid and do you have any pics?

Are you talking about a tiled hearth or a tiled surround?
Cleaning the dirt from the cracked edges might make it less visible, but replacing the tiles is the only proper solution. This should not involve removing the fireplace though!
Replacements are usually availbale for the old decorative surround tiles, but you may have to do a bit of research.

  • Its a tiled surround, i could buy a tile repair kit but all that is i 6 small multi coloured paint pots, some toothpicks and cotton buds for £24. Honestly!! http://www.repairproducts.co.uk/page7.htm.

The last thing i want to do is take the fireplace out i thought their would be some easier method of covering a black crack on a cream tile.

I would just use some cream coloured grout to fill the cracks.
It`s just wear and tear and some people would even consider it "character",like the creases in in leather furniture.
