Is it safe?

Really daft question - We are trying to create more space on our desk, and I was wondering how safe is it to put the main computer on the floor, under the desk? Will it get too hot down there?...or too dusty? TIA

Should be fine. In theory it will bee cooler (hot air rises) unless it is next to a radiator.

You may need to clean out the dust from inside a bit more frequently though.

If you're worried could you look for a small foot stool and put it on that.

When I moved mine down under the desk my husband made me little trolley (a bit of an old wooden shelf with 4 wheels off an old bed) to make it easier to wheel in and out to get to ports etc on the back, and also keep it slightly off the floor.
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

We put ours on a piece of wood and put wheels on it, so it is easy to pull out to clean/vacuum.

I've had mine on the floor under my desk for years, no problems.

Yes, you shouldn't have any problems. Just make sure it doesn't get surrounded by clutter which could affect the ventilation and cause it to overheat.

... or any PC, to be honest. When I had a desktop case, it still went under the desk on its side; if they're a bit narrow for that, you can get stands to hold them upright.
