Monday 7th December - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
Morning All,
Monday, Monday already!
Today I have/will:
· Checked online banking – and moved spare cash to savings account
· Enter comps online
· Daily scratches
· Meals from storecupboards
· Have a NSD – 5/15 – apart from a Bus Pass which is budgeted for
· Read more of my library book
· Washing on 30
· Get my timesheet signed and faxed off so I get paid at the end of the week
· Work really hard at work
· Do some overtime as I am off on Wednesday
Think that is about it but I am sure there is more to do, take care everyone

Lolly - Don't know if you've seen the news but Go Gos are at the centre of some contoversy today as it has been shown that their fur contains more than the permitted levels of antimony i.e they are toxic.
On another note hi:hello:!
Sorry I didn't post at the weekend but frankly I has such a non-DFW weekend that I didn't feel I could.:o I seemed to spend a fortune on Christmas presents, and also went out for a meal with friends. I also got told off by Netmums for posting things on the for sale board too often, so I don't think I can do that anymore!
But I did get a bargain on the Wii front - a new black Wii bundle with Sports and and Sports Resort for less than £108 after Quidco!:jMum is putting £50 towards it so B and T will have a most unexpected surprise.
Today I:
1) Didn't go to work as I have to work on Friday instead, which is my usual day off.
2) Dropped my car off at the garage. It has failed it's MOT and will cost £280 to remedy.Boo hoo!
3) Bought OH the Harry Potter DVD from Amazon for Christmas- just £6.71!
3) Bought whoopsied paninis for lunch.
4) Paid a cheque into the bank.
5) Checked bank, SCs and Quidco.
See you later, L x0 -
Morning All!! Thanks Candy for starting the thread... am in a much better place today than yesterday... Thanks in the main to DH finding his wedding ring :j:j:j it was in a bag for life!!! If that's not a reason to reuse rather than throw away I don't know what is...;)
It also meant that in the process of him looking for it (I am somewhat limited to scrabbling round on floors due to the size of my pg belly!) the bedroom is now the cleanest and most spotless I have seen it in years - all thanks to mr jonno!!
On a DFW note today I will do the following:
Checked bank
Check quidco
round to friends for cuppa (taking some cards for her, meaning I will save on postage)
Tea from stores
no heating on during day
Possible trip to library if I have time
If I have time update my Sainsburys on line shop (have £15 voucher) so I have saved a space and just need to check i am making good choices.
have a great day everyone0 -
Afternoon everyone!
Didn't make it on yesterday, didn't have a hugely DFW day...got distracted into buying coal for the fire and a new warm waterproof coat for the winter. It's freezing and raining here today though so I'm pleased I got it!
Have just had my lunch and I forgot my salad dressing, really gutted because it tasted horrible without it.
Today's list- Make and eat breakfast at home
- Lunch from stores (minus salad dressing...bleurgh)
- Dinner out with a friend tonight
- No more than 3 cups of tea (cutting down caffiene)
- Check in for flight to Dublin this weekend
- Check banking
- Update spending spreadsheet
- Re-arrange hair appointment
