Hi,

I do some office removals and we are often asked to dispose of desks and office furniture etc. We normally take this to landfill which seems such a waste.

I was wondering if there is a website or organisation that would want any or all of the items so they can distribute them to charities.

Well, if there's multiples in good condition you might find InKindDirect could help you out. Otherwise do you have any community furniture recycling projects? Ours will take office furniture as well as domestic, as long as it's in reasonable nick.

Local CVS will know which local community organisations and charities would be extremely grateful for free office furniture.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
  • Check the British Heart Foundation website
    www.bhf.org.uk
Search in "shop with BHF" "our shops" scroll down to get the tick box for the Furniture and electrical stores
They have Furniture and Electrical stores across the UK and would LOVE a donation of office furniture as people are always looking for office quality stuff.

We use Greenworks already, we have to pay to take office furniture there even when it's very good quality

A lot of charities with furniture shops may well take it, and try Business in the community, or scottish business in the community, who may know of orgnaisations looking for furniture etc.
for more info check out www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk . You'll find me there.

You could contact the local charities around Cumbria, and see if they would be willing to pass on the old furniture to victims of the recent floods.

At a time like now, when they have to pay for repairs, Christmas, bills and more - A little helping hand would go a long way!

Council for Voluntary Service - they sometimes have a different name but if you google CVS plus your local town or county you should find it, eg CVS Bristol brings up VOSCUR.
