Is there any way to get an accurate entitlement amount for Housing Benefit? Have tried entitled to, but it does my tax credits completely different to what I get.
Need to know how much will get to see if can afford 2 bed or have to go for 1 bed/studio!
Know the amount of lha will get will be the same regardless of size of property!
help greatly appreciated!

It varies from area to area, best place to find out is the local authority website for where you are going to live0

Do you work?
If so, how many hours?
Are you over 25?
Do you have a partner?
Do you have dependent children?
These are some, but not all, the questions we need to have answered before we can calculate how much you would be entitled to. We would also need figures (i.e. what is your net weekly income? what are the LHA rates for your area?) Please attend to that and there are people here who can help.0 -
i dont work as have just had a baby, my husband works 35 hours a week, i am currently on maternity allowance and looking for work, net pay for my husband is £780 a month (thts after tax)0

the lha rates are £675 per month for a 2 bed property (which is what we would come under i beleive....our total income between everything per month is £1400 but in january (if i dont find a job!) tht will go down to £1100.0

Right, well going off memory and working out on paper without a calculator and with a bottle of vino in me, I make it you would get £82.42pw towards your rent.
This is based on:
A monthly equivalent on £1400 net income (£323.08pw)
Applicable amount of £184.86pw (this will go down slightly when your child reaches its first birthday)
Earnings disregard of £26.45pw (it IS £16.45pw for over 30 hours isn't it guys? Doing this from the top of my head!)
Excess income of £111.77pw (£323.08 - £184.86 - £26.45)
LHA of £675 pcm (£155.07pw)
But I have done this haphazardly so please get the others to check my figures, ok? And put your claim in ASAP - every week you are losing entitlement.0
