Amazon and Home Network Delivery

First post so Hello to everyone!
I'm having some trouble with the delivery of two packages via Home Delivery Network. Both myself and my sister placed fairly sizeable orders containg christmas gifts with amazon on the 1st of Decemebr and both were dispatched on the 3rd. Using the tracking system we have noted that very little is happening. My own package has recieved a scan upon it's arrival at Prime Sort UK (sat 03:50) but of greater concern is my sisters parcel which is still considered "in Transit" after nearly four days.
I have contacted Amazon and they replied informing me that they will contact HDNL on our behalf to ensure that both parcels are delivered. They add that they will do their best to contact us with an update within three working days.
Is there anything else that can be done? Is our concern justified?.
Any advice as to first of all locate our parcels and secondly to get them moving again would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Bit of an over-reaction isn't it. There has been 1 working day since they were dispatched.
Amazon state that super saver deliveries take 3-5 working days after dispatch. So you still have another 4 working days to go before its past what Amazon advise delivery times as being.0 -
Unfortunately it seems HDNL variews massively by area of the country. It's great round here from despatch day its one extra day and then delivery on day 3. However they may still deliver so keep checking, they load vans at 7am so it'll let you know then if its on a van to be delivered that dayStudent Moneysaver going to Paris next year! Trying to save!

I'm currently having a big problem with HDNL out of Leamington. Ordered a Blu-ray DVD from play.com, which was dispatched by them on 1st December. The track and trace says this.
03/12/2009 10:25:00 LEAMINGTON VAN The parcel has been loaded on to the drivers van
03/12/2009 23:26:00 LEAMINGTON DEPOT The parcel is in the Depot
04/12/2009 11:17:00 LEAMINGTON VAN The parcel has been loaded on to the drivers van
The trail stops there.
There is always someone in at the delivery address. No delivery has been attempted and no card put through the door. I have spoken to HDNL on 3 occassions but they cannot tell me where the parcel is and never phone back when they have promised to.
I now have to spend hours trying to get through to the retailer to see if they can help.0 -
HDN have different delivery times according to how much you pay, as its a free delivery i presume it could be up to 4 working days delivery from despatch, i wouldnt be worried just because 1 day has passed0

If it is a help HDN completed botched the delivery of my daughter's present. It was shown as having been delivered and signed for by a complete stranger.....
To be fair to Amazon they accepted that something had gone very wrong somewhere and a replacement was despatched by Royal Mail. She got her present although it was about a week later than I intended.0
