parking ticket from excel parking

Hi i hope someone can help me? Yesterday i received a parking fine from excel parking for parking in my local retail park on 22nd November, i visited lidl at 12.44pm and left at around 1.20pm, i then went to tescos for which i have a receipt for at 1.50pm, i then picked up my children from school at 3pm and after that took them to dance class at 5.45pm. Then i asked my husband to go to lidl at 6.30pm to pick up a few more of their offers. Anyway the long and short of it is it says on the parking notice i was parked ther for six hours!!!! How can i prove to them my car was not parked for six hours?

You don't have to prove anything. It's a con.

Just ignore them. Dont' contact them or pay anything.

As Mrcow says, its to be ignored. These parking 'fines' are not enforceable.
They do not have the authority to fine people and they issue invoices which they cannot make you pay.

Ignore anything that you get from them. They will send threatening letters saying the may take you to court but just dont even bother opening them.

    regards

Thank you for your replies, i have emailed them asking for photographic evidence of my car being parked there between 1.30 and 6pm, they obviously can't provide that as i was not there, also whoever the attendant is in this car park does not check the cars regularly as this car park is max 3 hour stay so why wasn't i booked at 3.44pm? I will take your advice and ignore any future correspondence. Many thanks again

Disputes over the timing are besides the point really. All that matters is that this is an unenforceable penalty charge. The law hasn't allowed one private party to penalise another party since a precedent set in 1915.

The letters they send you are pure bluff, designed to scare you into paying them. Don't be intimated, it's a scam. They won't sue, and nothing will happen to you. They'll give up after a few letters.

Even if you did park there for 6 hours, they wouldn't be entitled to any money.

These are scamsters remember. It's not unusual for them to send out 'wrong' tickets hoping that they'll land on a pensioner's doormat who would probably pay.
