Grafix Card Advice!!!!

Options
Hi I really need some advice regarding connecting up my PC to my TV. What I want to do is put video and sound to my TV via HDMI cable. The question is does a HDMI grafix card carry the sound as well as video over HDMI cable? Next can anyone give advice on a reasonable one around £100. PC will accept PCIE.
many thanks

All ATI cards with a hdmi port (or ati's special dvi to hdmi dongle) from 2000 series or newer can deliver sound over hdmi. They are also superior imo to nvidia in that respect.

The best card to go for if you are not doing gaming is a passively cooled 4350 or 4550.
If you wish to do gaming too, then a 4770, 4850, 4970 or 5750 will do the job depending on PSU. Quality wise, there will be absolutely no difference between a £30 4350 or a £100 4970.

    Some cards to look at.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/169294 - low profile too. HDMI onboard, decent budget card

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/164568 - full profile, decent budget gaming card if you can a low power PSU

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/179681 - 5750 £85 for the price, theres nothing more powerful.
  • Thanks very much for that.
