PPI again

I got a list of ppi charges from EGG and submitted a claim, I was informed that as I had completed the application process online that their selling processes comply with all legal requirements. Has anyone had dealings with EGG like this? A second letter implied that I should conntact the Ombudsmsn if not happy with their reply. Any advice?

Hi and welcome.;)

Oh yes many on here have been in the same situation as you, and with EGG as well, so if that was the final letter which gave details of the FOS, then I would move on to them now, by enclosing copies of the correspondence you received ie: the letter which gave details of the FOS.
And any evidence you may have to support your complaint.

Many have then been successful through the FOS in regards of EGG, if you have time check through the posts, think many have posted on EGG in the above PPI reclaiming discussion thread.

You can ring the FOS to arrange they send you the complaints form, or you can go on their website by downloading and printing off a form, here:

Sometimes on non advised sales the tick box for the PPI was actually pre ticked so do not give up. Good luck and keep us posted.

I wrote to Egg regarding my PPI and was told because it was an Internet application they had mis-sold anything although I am certain this box pre-ticked.

I asked for copies of the application and they only sent me screen dumps of the screens completed during the application process but again I believe this to be manufactured by Egg so they only show what they want you or FOS to see.

Having had the response from the FOS i feel somewhat let down and I have until the 15th December to challenge the decision but unfortunately I am unsure on what grounds I could challenge it. My original claim was for being advised it would help my application with the Credit Card.

I know Egg have been fined and aren't the greatest but I feel this will not stand up against the FOS.

Any ideas?

Hi Longword

Many on here have been in the same situation as you, and with EGG as well/online application.
I believe the FOS know what they are like now.

Amersall may be able to help and advise you on this one, if you want to post up this on the above reclaiming discussion thread, amersall may be along either later or tomorrow.
Hopefully as she was successful with her case in regards of EGG, also an online application, she will have some useful advice on this for you.

I would love more help if possible but unfortunately I wasn't sure what thread you meant so that Amersall may see this cry for help!

I am certain not to give up but it's was dis-hearten when the FOS letter came. I had spoke to adjudicator the day before and he told me it would take 7 - 10 days for him to investigate! Hence the reason for feeling hard done by when his decision arrive the next day, I don't know how to what level of detail they look at cases!
