parking fine abroad?

got a parking fine in lille , france for 30 euros... tried my best at local police station and few places, but my french is pathetic, so came back in englad with the ticket..
what are the chances of having problem not paying it? i do travel france and europe , every 5-6 months

they may well send a fine to you here in the UK,also could possibly be a problem if you got caught again(towed away)

Probably won't have any consequences if you ignore it, there is long standing rumours of tickets being applied cross borders but little sign this is any closer- they are more interested in speeding rather than parking tickets I'd guess. I doubt interpol are interested in French parking tickets. Might be worth piece of mind to try and pay- given it is £20, perhaps someone on here can help but it would be up to you.

Switzerland is one country that it is not a good idea, I heard of people getting hauled in to pay fines next time they go back- not sure how reliable that is!
