Really annoyed with Play.com

Really need to vent about this as it really annoyed me!
I placed 2 orders on play.com on the same day about 12 hours apart using two different cards. I put one of the orders on my mum's debit card and the other on my credit card and they were both being sent to the same address.
I got email confirmation through from both and the orders were as they should be but when I got my credit card bill both things had been charged to my credit card.
I've ordered things before on the same day on two different cards and never had any problems so I really don't understand what went wrong this time.
I rang their customer services (a call centre in god knows where) to find out why this happened and the lady just fobbed me off and said it was my fault as i'd changed my card details and that because i'd used 2 different cards in the same day both things had been charged to the credit card. Surely they should have realised it was 2 completely different orders and considering it was 12 hours apart, the first order should have already gone through on the debit card!?
When I argued and said no- this is not my fault, I placed 2 seperate orders on 2 different cards as I wanted to pay on 2 different cards she just put the phone down on me!
Thanks play.com!!!!! ANNOYED!!!!!!

There will be anti fraud reasons for this and I am sure it's probably in the terms somewhere.0

I Agree with you its not your fault because you told their website how you want to pay...
I am so annoyed with them over stuff going missing in the post... I ordered 3 items 25th November posted 26th,27th,28th and still not received... I ordered on 30th got that 2 days later... 2 pre orders for monday I received yesterday... I enquire on how this happens they say "we dont control royal mail" but my argument is you sent items i ordered after the 25th and I got it before these... Surely lost in the post sorry sir you have to wait 21days to assume that!
Anyway back to your point... Why dont you speak to the bank as you clearly requested 1 debit not the other and explain the situation and see what they can do to help u?I like to think I can help but its for discussion purposes only so if I get it wrong please feel free to correct me.0 -
I think they just have awful customer service!
I spoke to my bank and they said they haven't really done anything massively wrong it's just bad customer service on their part. All they could do is refund the money and charge it again to the right card if I was really that bothered.0 -

Yes because your right here and not play.
Play state 21 days before its missing, seems fair, the post has been a nightmare lately so I dont think you should get them replaced a week later.
No doubt if the duplicates turned up you would be honest:rolleyes:0 -

Haha very true! But it's just really irritating!0

Thats how the Play.com website works. They don't have the ability to store multiple card details and let you choose between them. You can store one card at a time only, and as they only charge on dispatch then they will charge the card that is assigned to that account at the time.0

I have had no trouble with Play.com with all of my products0

I can imagine how annoying this would be for you, I don't want to hijack your thread by describing it all but I am also getting increasingly annoyed by Play.com and their numerous different mistakes. They aren't the 'cheap & friendly' site I thought they were.Male.
