Has anyone used the megabus Ferrytoll / Edinburgh to London recently and was it an old or new bus? Was nonchalantly thinking about booking for next month but after reading this thread I'm a bit concerned...0

I have used it twice once with children once without, I couldn't say it was that bad for the cost I've only paid £1.50 each time it's terrific compare to the west coast virgin trains. I quite like it and the two drivers I have had have been decent helpful people.-arrived early!0

If you're on a packed bus with an empty seat next to you, and someone gets on and wants that seat, are you going to refuse that person the seat by saying that you paid for two?
Fair enough there should be another seat available for that person but it would be difficult for the person getting on the bus to know which of the empty seats were paid for and which were not.
With the Yield Management system of allocating seats, it doesn't follow that, having bought two seats for £1, that additional ones will also be £1. Only the first few free seats per scheduled bus are rock-bottom price."Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."0 -
I used Megabus for a recent holiday from London to the Cotswolds.
The cost was £10 return, which was about 1/5 of the cost of going by rail, most of which would have been by bus anyway due to track works.
It was absolutely fine - ran on time, polite and careful driver, not too many people on board. Clientele no different to standard class on the railways. The bus going there was a little shabby and rattly, but perfectly ok.
I will definitely use them again.'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0 -
This is way out of date.
What is the latest info on this now-extinct (?) one-time bargain?!!!0 -
Still a bargain. Service still alright. Free WiFi now. Now offers trains on some routes.0
