Credit Card Surcharge?

I just received a request for payment of the final balance for my holiday with Thomas Cook. On the letter it states that there will be a small fee for credit card payments. They tell me the small fee is 2% up to a max of £50.
I think I am already due to pay them enough, and have checked all the terms and conditions, small print etc. I can find no mention regarding any credit card surcharge.
Am I legally obliged to pay this surcharge? If they had mentioned it earlier, I may of been able to pay by other means, but I got myself a 0% credit card especially.

All travel agents, airlines etc charge for paying by credit card.
It is not something new (unfortunately).0 -
The way round it is to get an MBNA Thomas Cook card.
Zero charge at TC, and then transfer it to the 0% card
