Help please need new CC and never done this b4!!

My husband has a cc with virgin and we have been paying high interest for ages and after asking for far too long for him to find another card, i have decided to do it myself but dont have a clue what i am doing. we have roughly 5,500 on it which needs to be transferred and a much lower rate found. Please can someone advise a method or is there like a comparision table i can use. Please please if someone can help i would be so happy and grateful!

    When you say you've not done this before, do you mean this would be your first credit card or your first balance transfer request?

    May I ask what credit facilities are held in your name?
    (Include catalogues, store cards, mobile phones etc. not just credit cards and your overdraft. Any account with credit facilities will leave footprints on credit files.)

    To help you further, we would also need to know which cards - besides Virgin - your husband has at the mo and whether he's applied for any unsuccessfully.
    People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.
