Im having my gas supply in my 3 bedroom terraced moved next year for the bargain price of £760 (!) and shortly therafter EDF are going to install a new meter FOC (The new meter position necessitates a smaller meter)

I need the old pipe removed (not necesarilly disposed of if its cheaper: ive got a skip turning up anyway) and:
- New line (about 40 foot) from meter to instantaneous boiler and also i need a new gas pipe for my gas cooker
- Boiler may need to be checked/ serviced etc (It was only installed 4 years ago)

Roughly how much should this cost?

Thanks, James

Southern Gas works will be the one moving your service and your meter not edf they are a supplier - as for the internal work do not know who would do that as usually the job of a gas safe registered engineer for works after the meter.

I was thinking of getting a pipe in to have a gas cooker. however cheaper to run things of electricity. Pain right enough having a electric cokker, but i think save abit in respect of gas prices.

im aware of that - my dno (scotia on behalf of sgn i believe) are moving the supply and creating meter box, edf are moving and reconnecting meter

im asking for a rough idea of cost on the consumer side, as described

scotia is sgn well scotish gas net works and southern gas networks, edf will be using their meter assest managment company to move their meter perhaps it is sgn or a n other company then a gsr will deal with the internal pipework complicated since deregulatiion innit.
