Dubai currency advice

Going to Dubai for Xmas, is it best to get UAED currency in the UK before departure or once we are over there? Also will the recent finacial problems means a better sterling rate?

From what I heard from my boyfriends dad who is a banker in the middle east, it is much better to do it when your out there. However , with the Dubai financial status changing, this now may have changed.0

Check the rate here first ie Marks and Spencer, then post your question on the Dubai forum on www.tripadvisor.co.uk and someone should be able to tell you the rate out there.
I found the best rates to be in the Malls ie Dubai Mall, but got some changed up first at the airport to last me till I got to the mall.
