I'm so shocked I'm even distracted from the footie!!
Got my new bill. Last year for this quarter it was about £90.
Over £200!!! Had heart attack. Checked meter. Correct estimate. I knew it would go up a bit as in elec only flat and given the cold winter I used a lot more electric heating.
But still!
Then I noticed the new prices.
I'm on Economy 7. The higher rate one has gone up from 10.23p/kWh to 13.94p!!
How on earth can they justify raising it by 36%?!
Time to look into switching methinks.

Crikey! I'm just in the process of swithching to Powergen, they came up cheapest for us on the price comparison website that MSE Martin recommends.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

Double check they still are after the price hikes in March.

However, I tried Uswitch and the only people who would be cheaper are nPower and I've heard terrible reports. So with everyone upping their prices I might just be stuck with it.

I instigated the change last month so it must still be cheapest for us, but guess who we are changing from?....npower. I must say I've no complaints about npower's service though, just their prices.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

I would recommend you check Equipowers prices, they do not appear on U Switch as they dont pay commissions.
They are listed on Energy Helpline.
Depending where you are they may be cheapest, especially if you are a low user.

I'm thinking of going to them after my capped price contract with Scottish Power ends in July. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I too am with npower and have no complaints apart from their recent price rises. But then everyone else's prices have been rocketing too. I have a big house to heat and am seriously debating whether to pay a bit more for a capped rate, for which Powergen looks to be the best deal. Any views?0
