Software that monitors attempts to change registry

When I used an old version of Spybot S&D it came with a facility (teatimer) to be told when software was trying to change or add registry settings and then accept or deny change. Now the later versions seem to have automated that process, so is there some software out there that does that function, ie sits in the background and pops up when software tries to add or change registry setting on my PC? I'm on Vista 32 bit by the way. Thanks for any help.

  • never mind, I realised there is a "paranoid mode" on latest version of S&D ..! sorted.

You would (read 'might'!) find it a fascinating exercise to run the SysInternals' Process Monitor software, to see just how much activity there is reading or writing registry keys and values... Much more goes on than you would imagine.
