  • Be careful when buying food with the word 'value' in, I remember hearing value meant that there is no more than 20% meat and that can include skin and muscle. Good price if your on a budget though.

lol! what do you think good meat is if not muscle? :p

I'm all for money saving but unfortunately some things I just can't go to basics on. Meat is one. If you're wanting some decent mince without spending a fortune, get some turkey mince which is good for the money (and cheaper than beef mince etc).

Depends what you are used to.
  • Funny how some people will say it is poor mince and then go and buy a McDonalds, which probably has even less decent meat or chicken in it LOL

I've had a visit to the factory where Mcdonald's burgers are made and would happily eat them......nothing but good chunks of beef, ok so there's quite a bit of fat on it but that's the nature of burgers!!! I can be a bit of a snob where meat is concerned, my mum used to be a butcher so if I would eat them they can't be that bad......shame about the crappy buns, cheese, sauces etc they use!!!!

I tried it once, it isn't bad and I'm glad I didn't see any veins in it! I used it with Chilli, and I drained the fat off, tasted fine once made into a meal.

I normally buy it in for the cats though, they love a handful of raw mince, and a 50p pack of mince will last a bit, and fills them up more than a can of cat chow.
