Turned down from CC - do you tell the next one ?.

Hello,

Just got turned down for the GE card as many others have.

My understanding is the this information is not logged by the credit reference agencies, so:

1) If I apply for another card/loan, should they ask about being turned down in the past - should I tell them ?.

2) If I do have to tell them, how long does it have to be before I can stop telling them ?.

I can't imagine that I'd have say I was turned down for a CC some 6 years ago etc. ?.

I have only applied for 1 credit card (The GE one) in the last 6 months.

Many thanks for your thoughts.

I have applied in the past for many credit cards and can honestly say that I have never been asked if I had been turned down by anyone. They often (always?) ask if you have other cards but never if you have been turned declined.
