Just to confirm what has been said before, you need to tell them either at your last signing on IF that is less than a week BEFORE you start work or up to a week after you start.
If you fail to sign on you could lose not only two weeks backdated money but also any other help you can get.
However I suggest seeing them when you have got a start date to see if you qualify for help with travel costs and clothing if required, as normally these are only available through an advisor and you may require an appointment prior to starting.
If you are struggling for cash after you start work before you get your first pay then you can apply for a crisis loan.
