when do i tell jsa i have found a job

i have only been on jsa since september and have now been lucky enough to have been offered 2 jobs but whichever one i decide to take the start date is not until the middle of january. i have to sign on on tuesday and go to one of these interviews to help me get work. do i tell them on tuesday i have got a job or wait until nearer the time. i am not going to look for jobs now and i know that to claim jsa i have to be actively seeking work. so will they stop my benefits now.??

If you do not wish to seek temporary work between now and your start date you will need to declare this now and close your claim.

I would agree with this. I was claiming JSA for only 3 and half weeks in 2006. Two weeks in I told them I landed a job, I never received my last week and a half of JSA money. I would tell them at the last possible point you need to.

Id tell them in janruary say the week or day before you start, there is a fund that you can apply for to help with train fares etc, think its called discretionary fund but not sure so someone else would confirm it

OP, you do realise that you will need to demostrate how you are looking for work in the weeks that you continue to sign on?

You need to prove that you are looking for work between now and when you start your job in January, so continue to sign on, but when looking for jobs, you are now only looking for a (very) temporary position.

I did this when finishing uni, and had a job starting 2 months later, but needed a job to fill the gap, hence was still seeking work even though I had a job starting later on.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

yes i understand that i have to prove i am looking for work. my new job starts in 5 weeks and if i can get a job for a couple of weeks until then then thats fine. but this job i first applied for in sept so it took that long for the whole process of interviews and test to be done.
