                    Hi all,
I have found the information on the site to be of great use, but I am looking for some advice regarding a parking ticket I received.
Basically I have just got a new job and have to park on an NCP car park. for 3 weeks I have parked on the same car park and paid £3-10 every day I have worked. Kept tickets for records. However one of the days I accidentally paid £2-10 because it was raining, I was rushing, and the stupid machine must not of taken my last pound. I got a ticket for £100 or £50 if I paid within 14 days.
I understand, fair enough I did not check the ticket and technically overstayed my welcome. When I got home I had a good look at my ticket, the strange thing is, that it states that my car is silver. It isn't its blue.
I was wondering if under these circumstances i need not pay the 'fine' and what would happen if the case went to court with regard to the colour of my car. Have I got them on a technicality?
Please advise asap as i'm not far off my 14 days lol
cheers andy

It doesn't matter if they state your car is bubblegum pink with a lime green trim, the fine is not a fine, it's an unenforceable invoice - ignore it and all the letters which follow, they will give up.0

It is not a real fine. You haven't committed any offence and don't have to explain yourself nor take any action at all. Certainly don't pay it, and don't 'appeal' (there is no appeal, computer says no).
Read this sticky, the bit about private parking charge notices:
 http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...html?t=1363571
Then if you need convincing further that you must IGNORE this scam ticket and letters which will follow, read all the other threads on this sub-board. Just click on 'parking fines, tickets & parking' above (a blue link just underneath the orange BANKING SAVING tab, top of this page).
Oh, and as it's an NCP fine, when browsing other threads do make sure you click on the link on Alx*27's signature, which shows you which letters you will receive from NCP before they crawl back under their stone.
Then just relax and spend your money on Xmas pressies instead. :T PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland). :T PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
