The co-op are my current fav for wine offers ( oh did I mention I work there too:p ). They have had some fab wines on offer recently and currently have some good 3 for £10.00 wines.
Our fav glug-in-a-box wine is Asda's south african red at around £10.50 for a 3 ltr box. Cheap but very drinkable.
Wine tends to be counted in our grocery budget, as I tend to think of it as part of the meal.0 -
I definitely recommend Lidl. Plenty of choice of wines for under £3 a bottle, so no need for drastic measures
(abstinence? Pah!).

Excellent, just been in and change the house red to the south african red - cheers forever skint. I did look at the wine warehouses, and may see if we can do that next time.

Netto do some surprisingly good wines. Morrisons have some reasonably priced ones too. Some of the boxed wines are good, and if you're only having a glass now and again, they are very good value since you don't 'need' to finish them off to stop them going off!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I would love to meet the person who made the instruction "wine will last for 6 - 8 weeks when opened " on the side of a wine box. - mine never last 68 hrs
[STRIKE]WE[/STRIKE] I love wine - and consider it part of my grocery budget -one point to note when you buy any 6 wines from ASDA you get 10% off - I bought a rather drinkable Chilean Chardonnay - 6 btls for £16 - but everyone has different tastes

We tend to look for half price stuff in Tesco ie £6 down to £3 or their own Chilean merlot - £2.98 or Muscadet - £2.88. Lidl is good if you want the bottles to look a bit more upmarket for the same price and most of the wine is good - get one bottle at a time to try it.

There was an interesing article in the Guardian about half price wines in supermarkets. Somebody wanted to know how much a half price bottle of wine was really worth.
It basically said that if it is £8 reduced to £4, then really the wine is only worth £5. Supermarkets plan all their special offers really carefully and just because it once was for sale at £8, it doesn't actually mean it was ever £8 bottle quality0
