Guttering Quote - £300?

Options
I have been quoted £300 to replace my guttering at the rear of a Victorian house with 6 inch guttering (there is an overflow problem) including brackets and a 'hopper' for the downpipe...

Does this seem fair? Thanks

Is it for plastic guttering? cast iron?

    Shape? half round,ogee?
Overal length of run of guttering?
Overal length of downpipe? front and back of house?
    Working height from the ground?
Do you have a fascia and soffit to fix the guttering to or exposed rafter feet?

Try looking on www.bliby.net good company to deal with and good prices too. They supply only but it will give you an idea of material costs.

It is plastic - no down pipe or soffit/fascia - length approx 5-6 metres maybe (average house back size for 1900 build) and I think half round.

Sounds a little high to me given the materials would be no more than £50-00..
Time wise it shouldnt take more than a morning easily for one man and a helper..

£50 from B&Q maybe, but High capacity, high quality products, 2 men, drop the old stuff, replace all clips, new gutters and spouts, £300 sound OK to me. bankers are getting million pound bonus's for doing less work.

Yes it is London - so I know the price would be higher. I have decided to go ahead as he is a work colleagues family (so the trust element is priceless) and he has been very good at communicating and has offered to do it this week. Thanks

I never, ever use B&Q nor any other shed including wickes.Ive been dealing with Bliby plastics for at least the last 15yrs and they sell decent branded materials.

Polypipe 4M length of half round is £5-20,gutter brackets (one every metre)are 70p each and no they don't snap when its cold......and union brackets are £1-30 each..

150mm industrial high capacity is £15-98 a length, union bracket £3-03 each, gutter brackets are £1-75 each so for a straight run with an outlet would be around £50-00 ........
