Sandstone smooth sealer?

I was wondering if you could help me out, I've recently layed Indian Sandstone paving slabs indoor's for the use of a fire harth.

Im after a high gloss finish, but also a smooth one so it can be wiped down with a wet cloth.

Anyone have any idea's of a product that will give me the desired effect?

Thanks

If your hearth is purely decorative, then someone will be along with a suggestion - but if it is for a real fire, then have another think. Firstly, I would be reluctant to use a sandstone for this job and any sealing product would be likely to suffer from heat very quickly.

Honestly you've used the wrong stone if you wanted smooth...should have gone with honed limestone or marble.

There's nothing I know that will create the finish you're looking for as sandstone is so inherently porous. You need a more dense product to start with.
