I went to Watford first thing this morning at 8.30am to avoid the shopping chaos (although by lunchtime it was no busier than a normal Saturday) and the Harlequin branch had them all piled up, I thought they were going to topple over. They've all gone now though, and have been replaced by a bag with toiletries in it, which I saw online yesterday and looked like a good deal. It was funny as the only people buying them were older women who were going "that looks like a great deal" and no die-hard MSErs.
There's been a real community spirit in Boots, one lady even came up to me to say the No7 make up set (from £30 to £12) was a bargain if I was buying for older girls (I am 34 with no kids so a bit fed up at that!) and she didn't even work there...maybe she was an MSEr!! :A
  • Hi all, I love this thread, I have been on everyday since the first post. I was going to get one in Lisburn (NI) on my way to the hairdressers, but my mum was heading into Newry and I picked 4 of them at 1030 yesterday morning. She couldnt believe how nice they were and we are both delighted with them. 3 for my sisters and I and one for a wedding present.
    :j
P.S. When I stopped at Lisburn they were all sold out and it is a huge store.

Also None for Ebay just incase anyone is wondering.

Good Luck to everyone who hasnt got theirs yet and that to OP for this!!!

When i spoke to CS this morning i was told that 50,000 people had tried to order online.

Lol, I think tried was the operative word. I spent hours on this trying to get the payment accepted between 2 & 3am, and then again from 6.30 onwards. No joy whatsoever.I wonder how many actually sold this way.

It's worth phoning up your local stores again., I phoned just over an hour ago to be told they had a few in. Wouldnt save one for me so I rushed down. got myself two. Not many left. The woman I spoke to there told me they had literally got them in an hour ago and before that had been telling everyone theyd sold out and werent getting anymore... becauser they didnt know about the other delivery. so keep trying. mny phone call must just had landed right!!

Huddersfield by the way - still a few left, going like hotcakes though

I'd say when Martin Lewis mentioned it on gmtv to Lorraine, that told the whole of the UK

Ahh, I also got an email from Soap and Glory, on the 17th, so he's not completely to blame....

DON’T PASS OUT WHEN YOU READ THIS!

Because technically, it’s top secret. Official.
    Even quite possibly stamped with
    HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL’ across it.

But because you put up with these newsletters from us - and sometimes even comment that they give you a good laugh - we’d like to tip you off on something. (We’re sending it out at this somewhat odd hour, because we weren’t allowed to spill the bargain beans until after Boots stores closed for shopping today.)
TOMORROW, in the UK, at most all of the Boots shops carrying Soap & Glory Christmas sets,

Yep. £20. (steady there. And don’t blame us if you pass out. We warned you.)

We’d, uh, recommend getting out there and taking advantage of this as soon as the doors open and WHOOOOSH, those hat boxes are history!

I am still tired from staying up till all hours ,and getting up early, and still didnt get one.

Although, I would have been disappointed if it wasnt a total shambles, as Boots.com would have shocked everyone:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

This has really put me off Soap and Glory lol
I appreciate Each and Every win. I thank every comp poster from the bottom of my heart :A

I was one of the few who managed it! It was quite a bit of work, sat up from 11.30pm to 3am, and breaking out in a cold sweat at 12am when the site went offline. It was two hours spent F5ing both Boots.com and this website, then another hour once I got through trying to order the boxes and everytime getting to payment page before it conked out.
I am on minimum wage so am so pleased I got a few boxes, as they'll last me for months and months and I won't have to use the cheap rubbish I have been buying. I won't be putting any on ebay but you can guarantee I will be using, and loving every last drop of my purchase!!:j
  • hi, my first post ever. someone in an earlier post asked about any stock in the north london area. Palace Gardens Boots in Enfield Town has loads out yesterday afternoon and an SA said they had over 100 in the stockroom. good luck.

Mine came today, in the usual brown Boots box with a bit of scrunched up brown paper on top. fortunately the actual hatbox is really thick very sturdy card, so no damage or marking at all. :j

Yep mine arrived today, 2 in all even though I received 6..yes 6 email confirmations!!!
Pristine condition but the box for the 2 is the same depth as the hatbox so don't go cutting the sealing tape with a knife!!

I read this thread at the about the OOTW when it was posted and didn't pay much attention as I have already finished my xmas shopping :) I happened to be in Boots yesterday morning, the store had just opened and was quiet apart from a number of people looking at these boxes. I went to have a look at the contents of the box and was thrown out the way at least three times!! Anyway the box itself looked lovely! Not much inside for such a huge box, but a really nice gift. I decided not to get one as no room in my bathroom for a box that big. When I went to the checkout I saw people with multiple trolleys full of them, the people in front of me had 12!! 2 trolleys piled high, the husband brought out a list... "I hope we have enough he said" the wife started going through the list (of what seemed like distant relatives), then her phone rang, get 2 more she called out, he went to get them, no 3 more she shouts after him!!
I cant imagine giving these boxes out to everyone in the family, even friends, we only usually spend about 10 quid each on one another. If I started giving these out they would be thinking I had won the lottery or something lol.

I bought two, one for my daughter and another one to split up for friends birthdays next year. i will just put a couple of items in small gift bags when it is each of their birthdays. I looked on the Boots website and the items in the box are between £2 and £8 each. they will be thrilled.
