Hmmmmmmm I think they just didn't think it'd be as popular as it is.... I'm sure they would have got more if they did.x
i totally agree it is not like it is a designer exclusivity thing - surely they would want to make as much profit as possible??? Look how protect and perfect took them by surprise - but once their suppliers caught up you could swim in the stuff in store. My sis works at a boots and i get the impression most smaller stores really did not realise the impact of it - yes there is MSE, GMTV, adverts etc but to alot of smaller non city stores especially in the north, it will just be another note from head office on whatever is less than half price.
Surely they will stock up all week they are a profit making company!Debt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

kk, but they did not KNOW how popular it was going to be so why would they have?? I take everyone's comments about reading this site etc and yes maybe their systems could be better, but I can't believe a profit making company would purposely choose to let demand outstrip supply - especially as it is one week only, no matter how desperate/disapointed/upset some people are, they ain't gonna pay £50 on 25th are they?Debt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

I agree koolkid. I think this thread & maybe other forums too hyped the S&G hatbox so much that people who didnt even know about S&G wanted one. Also, dont forget those buying to sell on ebay. The way I see it, Boots should have limited quantities per customer. This would have given everyone a chance to at least get one.0 -
What's more unfair is for Boots not to have enough stock. For an Offer of the WEEK to all but sell out in a matter of hours is a joke and Boots should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
I would be curious to know how many hatboxes sold as opposed to other Offers of the Week. Surely this must be selling far, far more than the other offers, just based on response on here and HUKD. I do think they should've known to get more based on s&g's popularity, but I don't know if Boots could have correctly judged this massive demand. They'd be stuck if they ordered twice as many if the stock didn't sell like hotcakes.0 -

PMSL Crystal Peaks had LOADS :rotfl:(I know that will mean something to you LB) x0 -
yeah and as i have posted, fargate had loads this morning, and someone said meadowhall has loads....if you read my post in context you know i will mean small stores in small places up north, where presumably people are disappointed not to be getting them - therefore not enough stock. Sheffield is a big northern city - the north is a pretty big place you know! I think we are on the same page but on different paragraphs!Debt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

Lets face it... if they said to Boots you can sell 2x amount sold by 2pm 18th Dec each day of the deal they would've got enough stock in... they wouldn't turn money down x0
