Getting a new credit card with no provable income

I already have a Student credit card from my days at uni but the limit is piddly at £250 and have been told that's the max limit they offer on that card. If I want something higher I'll have to apply for a new card. However I recently lost my job after finishing uni and being there for 18 months. As I have no way of proving dependable income since becoming unemployed.
Am I likely to get rejected from apply for another credit card with a higher limit or is there a way round it?
I think I have a generally good credit repaying everything on my exsiting card in full before the end of the month and haven't taken out any new credit in the last 6 months.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Do not lie on your credit application as it is fraud. You may be hit with a CIFAS marker which will trash your file for up to 13 months.0

Ok, I don't think there's anything above that's a lie though?0

You will not get a credit card as you are unemployed. Do you live alone? Some cards accept "household income" such as M&S and you list yourself as a houseperson0

If you are on Job Seekers Allowance, you'll have some income but I don't know if the Sub-prime/high APR cards will accept you (Capital One, Vanquis and Aqua). Even if they do, the starting credit limits are likely to be low (e.g. 100-250).0

Please don't get another card, if you are unemployed on a limited income don't get yourself into debt.:hello:0
