Every time I top up my Gas meter the Tariffs go up, every time! Now my electricity has changed, majority of screens away. now it says I've to pay £1.odds a charge a week. And pay 00010 per KWH per hour.
Contacted British Gas to go onto Click energy and since this all this been happening for three to four weeks. nobody knows whats going on.
Any guidance/help?

Thanks

£1 per week and 10p per kWh is reasonably cheap, especially for prepayment.

I've not agreed to a charge. My meters seem to have a mind of there own and British Gas are clueless
  • have you checked to see if the meter charges match click energy tariff?
  • The prices are very competitive plus your on pre payment I have seen them a lot higher than that.

The electricity is on the click rates. The gas is not, the tariff rate is just going up every time as I sais when topping up. At 8.821 and 3.841 at moment. Sholud be 7.990 and 3.265.

Just been told that the charge set on the meter comes off every wednesday. However if I just top up every wednesday it will take double. Is this right? I only top up every saturday to do us to following saturday

I've just been told that the Gas meter takes 32pence per day. Was told why but does not make sense. something to do with the meter does not know between the two tariffs. Yet the meter will only charge at lower rate. I've also not to see this as a charge. Does not add up. Anybody know what British Gas are saying?

None of your numbers appear to be correct.

    For gas, tier 1 (2680kWh/year) is 8.341p

    tier 2 is 3.409p

    http://www.britishgas.co.uk/pdf/Standard%20gas%20prices.pdf

    The difference is 4.932p
    2680kWh/365days = 7.342...kWh/day

    7.342...kWh x 4.932p = 36.21p

If all your gas is charged at the lower tier 2 rate, then BG need to charge 36.21p per day to make up the difference (assuming you use at least 7.342 kWh per day)

    Edit:
Do you know you could be buying gas from ebico for a simple flat rate of 3.675p per kWh?

That means as long as you are spending less than about £1800 per year on gas, you'd be better off with Ebico.
