Hi all and thanks for looking
As my thread subject said I am totally new to buying event tickets, Ive only ever been to 1 concert in my life and someone else bought it for me.
So this year I have been trying to buy concert tickets/ wrestling/event tickets for my son who is now getting to that age and as Christmas presents for mates. I feel a bit lost. I went to ticketmasters website and seemed every event I looked for eg Peter Kay, Frankie Boyle, cant remember 3rd thing was coming up with no results for any date any ticket type.
I have signed up to ticketmaster but what else can I do to make sure that I have a shot at getting tickets in the future for things my family or myself would like to go see? Dont know if its relevant but I live in West Coast of Scotland so would either go to Glasgow (probably SECC) or Edinburgh at a push for a venue. Any seasoned gig goers who can bring me up to speed ......:T

Hi Groovegal.
The message you are getting tends to mean that the event you are looking for is sold out. Occasionally (especially as you get closer to the date) more tickets do go on sale, but it is just a case of checking every now and then to see. I think that may be why ticketmaster don't just state sold out.
It is worth checking other tickets site. I tend to use seetickets.com as well as ticketmaster.
Unfortunately with popular acts which sell out so quickly you will usually need to be online on the date and time tickets go on sale. As you have now signed up for ticketmaster emails this should give you some advance warning. It might also be worth your while seeing if the SECC has a similar mailing list.0 -
Hi Groove Girl,
As Piglet has said generally you need to be on-line or on the phone when tickets for popular artists are on sale as they will sell out quickly.
Generally as a rule I will only use ticketmaster or see tickets for gig tickets or I will phone up the venue directly and ask if they have availablity. Along with ticketmaster, See tickets have a mailing list which send out emails about new events so it might be worth signing up to that as well.
If you are desperate to see an artist you can always try ebay or viagoo, however be wary of using these sites as you dont want to lose your money when you will probably be paying over the odds anyway!
Hope this helps
Rob

Always worthwhile signing up for newsletters on artists/bands websites. If there is a pre-sale of any tickets then you will be sent the link.0
