hiya, just ploughing my way through my DLA application, not that I have any hope in being awarded it, but you got to try. You know the form the Dr has to fill in, will I have to pay for it? I do work, but not happy if I'm expected to pay for it, my prescriptions cost enough withoput having to pay for the Dr to fill a bit paper in.... Thanks.

Is this your first application? I've just been through the process of re doing my for the 1st time. I don't remember a part for the doc to fill in but my doc has been very good and has never charges me for doing anything like that. If they write to him/her then there shouldn't be a charge, as well as that if you need something signed if you can get it done at the same time as you see him/her for your meds you may get away with not being charges but if they say they will do it later then unfortunately they more than likely will.0

Hi turning into scrooge,
yeah, its my first application, is says at the front of the pack that the Dr needs to complete a GL something or other. Dont know why I have to fill it in, they'll be writing to my Dr for info anyway, seems like a bit of a pointless task.....RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

I don't think those kind of forms are charged for. They told me they were going to write to my doctor as well but they didn't so don't expect them to definitely do so.0

When I last did my application this time last year, they contact your doctor for you.
Have you been to see your doctor regularly about the problem you're claiming for?0 -
PS. Just because they don't tell you they've spoken to your doctor dont think they don't do it. My doc never mentioned they'd phoned him until I was there last week, and they spoke to him 10 months ago!0

If the DWP ask the dr for a report then it should be done free of any charge to you. If it is you who asks for a report or letter then the dr can charge you. Sadly too many gp's now days want a hefty fee before filling out forms or writing letters for patients. My own gp charges about £45 for filling out medical forms. :mad:The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
