scottish power jumped my £2.50 a week arrears to £16.22 advice please as there closed

our meter is going down so fast right now as the letter we got a week ago said we was going from £2.50 to £16.22 and we was like WOW what!! so rang em instant and said it was a computer blunder so need to worry its the same amount as before...

then today looked on meter as we ran out overnight when already toped up and Boom! 16.22 a week arrears it says on meter :(

so went to ring and there closed till monday, anyone know anything else we can do please

  • afraid there is not much you can do untill customer services reopens.
    when you do speak to them offer a more relistic figure than £2.50.
    they don't usually accept less than £5pw and what they take depends on how much you owe

    ok thanks and yeah its been at that price for nearly 3 years, and we owe 700 pound right now and are on benefits :(

    My Gas meter tariffs go up every time I top up, British Gas which I did not know is also called Scottish Gas. They seem clueless.

    have you checked to see if there is a social tariff since you are on benifit?

    I don't know how you can expect to pay only £2.50 per week arrears if you owe £700. That would take nearly five and a half years to pay off at that rate.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    hehe yeah true but it was what they set so i never questioned but i don't mind paying 5-6 pound a week just 16£ is insane on our income at the moment :(

    not long to go until i can get on that phone and find out what the hell is going on :) but always stay calm :)
