Help!!!!!!!! Credit card theft

I authourised 2 payments of £4.09 in October with my capital one credit card to a company named healthfocus & never received the goods. The company took 2 further payments in November of £73.35 & 2 payments in December of £73.89. Capital one refunded the 2 payments of £4.09 but refuse to help me any further & advised me to take the matter up with the merchandiser. The merchandiser said that when i paid the original payment of £4.09 i entered into a 6 month contract & only had 17 days to cancel. They have now cancelled the account but are refusing to refund!!!! Please help, kind regards Nicola.

If the company can show that you have agreed to take up the membership (a sneakily placed opt in/opt out box) then unfortunately you have to take the hit. However, if you can show that membership enrollment was not clear and your were "tricked" into accepting it then you can take this up trading standards and even consider small claims court....these will take up your time and you need to be absolutely sure. Maybe CAB could be your first port of call.
