It means plug the network cable in tothe network adaptor assiciated with the network connection "local area connection 5" from network connections page.
If you only have 1 network port on your pc/laptop then it must be refering to that one.0 -
ive tried that, it says i have a problem with one or more network adaptors, i knew there would be some problem when i downloaded it,but i was more to do with aero i think0

Did you connect wirelessly previously? Log in to the router's web config pages and look at the wireless settings page. The network key might be visible, if not type in a new one.pizzaboy wrote:and i cant remember my network key,how can i change it
The address of the web config page depends on the model of router, but it's usually http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1.0 -
ok thanks ,tried that but hasnt made any difference.
i did have wirless before with security (wpa)0 -
Are you tryi ng to connect wirelessly. If you are connecting using a cable then the key does not matter. What adapter do you have for your wireless? What type router?0

Yes im trying to connect wireless ,its a belkin 54g and the adaptor is intel pro wireless 2200bg network connection ,does that sound right0
-
If you have forgot your key then you are going to have to connect wired until you reset it. this should be no problem just plug in the cables and call up the page. I think for belkin it was 192.168.0.2 (mine was anyway)0

Have you tried just doing a hard reset (small hole in back of router) and starting from scratch. You will have to setup your wireless again but shouldnt be a problem0

Pizzaboy, it sounds like a driver issue to me. That's one of the issues with running Vista at the beta2 stage.
Head of over to the website of the manufacturer of your wireless card and get the latest drivers - these 'should' already be compable with Vista.
Loosing your WPA key isn't the end of the world, as already mentioned you can log into the router and change it (default login is typically username=admin password=admin by the way). If you can't log into your router you can 'hard reset' it but be warned that this would take it back factory settings (i.e. how it was when you first took it out of the box) and you may need to enter some settings to get it back up and running, your ISP would have that info if required.0
