Is it fair to say on an itunes computer programme your playlist only holds the title info and not the actual tune that is in your windows music file?
It pays to challenge

I suspect all it holds is the ID reference of the track in the database and nothing more... I guess this could be a key created from the CD, track and artist, but it certainly won't be holding anything more. The music is totally separate in the MP3 (or other format) file, along with the full track text info.0

Yup, it is. Just think of a playlist as a bunch of shortcuts.0
