Having an MSE night out. We are visiting a friend who has just bought his first house. Husband gone to shops to get superglue for my vanity case (I will ebay this tomorrow!) and offered to get me some drink. I asked for Value sparking water and am going to take some posh squash from the back of the cupboard - will also give a bottle to our host as he doesn't drink either. My drinks for evening will cost me less than 30p (squash purchased months ago on offer so true cost more like £3.30). I'm proud of myself for refusing to spend extra on drinks.

Also picked up a £2 gardening book giftset from the charity shop (to go in pressie box ready for next christmas) and have made my mum a christmas decoration giftbox for just under £10 - tabletop christmas trees £1 in Asda plus 10p charity shop decs etc.
Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.

  • Evening Everyone

Not been here much lately, just seemed to have lots of stuff going wrong and stuff to sort out and xmas stuff and just more stuff:rolleyes:

I have been browsing tho so hope I am forgiven.

I have been busy trying to be mse.
    But
Car repairs exceeded its value twofold:o So had to get another one.
Dh is trying to get used to our little Corsa now. :rotfl:
So far I have put my quidco money into overdraft fund, fifty pounds from this months food budget. Money son paid me towards his tv. I also have £120 from the scrap value of the car. I will have about £45 from the car tax refund as well. God knows the effect this will have on my snowball:eek:.
    Have sorted ds Christmas present
Bought all nieces and nephews presents from boots 12 presents for £51 plus a £12 voucher.
    MIL perfume £25 boots online £15 yay:j
Only a few more to buy

Am meal planning like mad to compensate the £50 from the food budget and seeing if I could shave off a little bit more, think I may be able to.

I have another £2.50 in Tesco vouchers
    £10 in nectar
    £7 Co-op
and will have about £13 boots

Went to allotment social to celebrate my birthday (I sure know how to live) Had a good time though.
Went to Lincoln Market twice yesterday.:o Once with DS after pottery with his friends didn't spend anything though just looked. Then in evening went with DD and my friend and her DD, mind you her DD spent all evening sniping at her mum certainly took the edge off of the evening. Both the girls are 18 now and it was excrutiating to listen to. (She did the same at DD's 18th a couple of months ago) Don't know how I kept my mouth shut.
Did enjoy looking around with my girl, made me realise how she has grown up and my friend is really great one of the best. Still I bought Gluhwein and cheese:D. Dd has gone back with her best friend this evening, it is a shame coz it is peeing down, but I am sure they will have a good time.

I have had a nsd today
I have shredded unwanted mail, and recycled other stuff
I am going to file what is left in a bit
I am drinking a lovely red that was a present

Tomorrow I will do all my ironing and put clothes away
    Plan party for Rainbows
    Clean bathroom
Plan work for week, been really lax lately:o

May have a bit of a browse on here for a bit but then will get on:rolleyes:
My finances are work in progress.
    Normal veiwing will resume shortly

  • Hi All!!

Not a great weekend in terms of low spend, although everything I have bought is in budget (why does it make you feel a bit bad thought, even when this is the case:rolleyes:)

Even worse, think my DH lost his wedding ring last night  am waiting for Mr T's to open so I can call them to see if anyone found it in there. Will spend the rest of the day turning the house upside down double checking everywhere we looked last night. In between this and not feeling distraught at the thought of us not ever finding the ring...

    I will:
Wash on low and dry indoors
    Put up tree
    Clean lounge and ensuite
    Tea from freezer

Think that will be about it as I'm not feeling 100% and may have overdone it over the last couple of days.

Have a great Sunday everyone x

  • Bad news on the ring Jonno. My DH lost his when digging a potato patch and we couldn't find it. Was sad but we're still married many years later!

Am fretting about how I am going to have time to organise all I need to. I suppose a good start would to not be on here!
Also bills have arrived (early!) for DSs music lessons and rugby club want money for a tour for next summer. I need to do some shuffling of money from savings to other account.
Right off to make lists and get organised!
    Belle

    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.
