Credit Card Transfer Questions

Hi. Sorry if these questions are stupid or obvious but here goes!!

Can you transfer the balance of an overdraft to a credit card?
Does it have to be with the same bank?
Can you transfer money from a credit card into somebody else's credit card or bank account?

usually it is OK to BT from one CC to another even if the second one is a different person's name.. but check the CC aren't the same provider as they wouldn't normally allow a BT

most CC don't allow a BT from a bank account... the main except is MBNA stable of cards

Only with MBNA run cards (including Virgin, Play, Sony) or an Egg card or the Post Office card.

Yes, generally you can transfer balances from whoevers card you like, be it your partner, your friends or just Dave from down the pub (make sure he buys you a beer though). However, be aware that once the transfer is made, the person who has taken on the debt becomes legally responsible for it and it is not possible to move the debt back again at a later date.

As above, you cannot usually transfer balances from cards supplied by the same Provider. This list shows you who owns which card so this can be avoided :
