ATCUK and mytripandmore.com

Does anyone have any info on these two companys and websites
i booked 2 flight tickets via ATCUK via there website but on the phone to an operative
ive asked several times now for a reciept of payment (debit card) and im fobbed off with various reasons when i ask to speak to a manager or supervisor i get fobbed off again (busy, not available) there address seems to check out via google and yell.com in maidstone. I can retrieve all of my flight booking and details via a code inputted into mytripandmore.com but i can print my e-ticket via the site .The ATCUK reps first told me that my ticket would be posted mid nov now there telling me 1st week of jan.
Its bizarrre because i sort of trust it all but am just confused why after 5 times of asking they still havent posted or even emailed me a copy of my reciept of payment.....
Are they obliged to do this or not ?
any help or advice welcomed
Thanks

OK, lets see what we can do to help. Air Travel Consultants does exist and has a licence to issue 500 tickets a year....so not a huge licence. I assume from your post you have actually received nothing from them, if so you need to report it to the CAA, Consumer Affairs are on 020 7453 6424 as by law they are supposed to issue you with an ATOL Confirmation Invoice within 7 days of booking.

There is no question of 'tickets being posted' airlines do not use paper tickets anymore, they are all 'etickets' so you should have been sent either by email or in written form details of your booking with a 6 digit PNR which you can use on 'mytrip' etc to check the details. This is a scheme operated by one of the computer reservations systems and has no links at all with your travel agent, it cannot issue you with a ticket but it can show you reservations which exist. Most tickets need to be issued within 7 days of booking, many even quicker and the fact that there is a reservation is not a guarantee that any ticket has been issued. By law agents must either ticket within 24 hours of being paid or issue you with an ATOL Confirmation which is the proof you need in the event the business goes bust and you don't have a ticket. If no one will talk to you and you have nothing that looks like an invoice, speak to the CAA straight away
  • Hi I realise this post was put on some time ago, but I would just like to know if everything turned out ok with your booking. We have also booked with this firm, they have e mailed me with the flight detail and a booking ref which checks out on the internet flight booking site. We fly on christmas eve and they say that they require the full balance by the end of november, I always thought it all had to paid up by 6 weeks before departure at the very latest. I would be gratefull if you could put my mind at ease because I too had a little feeling of concern after paying our depoisits over the phone. thanks in advance for any info
  • very interested in your message, I have been looking at prices of flights to OZ, most sites were £1000 to £1100, (I was after particular flites on a particular airline), phoned atcuk and was quoted £729! I am very suspicous, they said deposit of £250 p.p. and balance 2 to 3 weeks before we fly. I would love someone to tell me they are genuine so I could save quite a bit of money!
  • Hi, friends i am dealing with last three years with Air Travel Consultants as they are my local travel agent present on high Street. Last year I went to Sydney and I paid 300 deposit in August, 09 and in November last week i remember that I cleared the dues. ATCUK sent me the ticket by email One week before departure and its a very memorable journey for me.

I think taking deposit, getting confirm in lowest fare normally done by Travel Agents. If any one dont want to pay deposit to confirm in lowest fare then I think that they should pay in full and take the ticket straight away otherwise wait until tickets come.

    Thanks

    Ashely
  • Some people would call the above 3 posts suspicious.

    Not me though, oh no!
  • If you have booked with this travel agents, please contact Consumer Affairs (CAA) on 02074536424 as this company has now gone bust (done a runner) and Consumer affairs is trying to get every ones money back. We have lost our deposit hopefully you won't lose yours!
  • I know you posted this a while ago but we have recently found out that this company has done a runner with our deposit, try contacting consumer affairs (if you did use them) and hopefully you can get your money back.

I think you need to read the messages above, the business appears to be no longer trading, hence the reason they are not answering the phone. Call the CAA or look at their website on how to make a claim assuming you have an ATOL Confirmation Invoice
