How many days do Application 'footprints' take to appear on your credit file ?

in Credit cards
If you apply for credit- loan or a card etc.... this puts a footprint/mark on your credit file.
but how long does it take from the day you apply to when this application is an actual documented mark on your credit file as a mark?
or is it immediate? (but I wouldn’t think so, as it takes time to process, etc.. and from the loan companies to notify the Credit agencies
Lets say you apply for your card on June 1st, what date earliest could it take to appear on your credit file?

It depends.
Some organisations offer instant online decisions.
Applications to those will appear on the credit register immediately unless they defer the decision.
Other organisations process the applications with some manual intervention and application will show on the credit register when the decision is made.0 -
I subscribe to the Experian service.
They've taken anything from 3 days to a month to "appear" (ie the first time when I search I see them). But once they've appeared they are usually dated on the date of application or very soon afterwards.
Presumably there is a lag between when the search is done and the fact of that search being logged on the "credit expert" system that I subscribe to. I don't know if this is the same system as commercial clients access - I suspect they might get more up-to-date data because part of the justification of this information being available is to prevent someone making a number of applications in quick succession.0 -
Well my hubby applied for a few bank accounts and I checked my files to see if they had checked me as an 'associate' When I checked my file hours later nothing was showing, then over a day later, there were 3 checks on me:eek:
