useless Dyson

Hi , we bought a Dyson DC19T2 on 31st October, it is useless, we have 2 dogs and a cat and the vacuum cleaner just does not vacuum up any of this on carpet or laminate flooring. It is so bad we have pulled our 10 year old upright Dyson out of the garage to use in the house. The new item was bought at Curry's and I unfortunately paid on my debit card as we had put a lot of expenses on our credit card at that time. Where do I stand on getting a replacement?

Did you buy the 'Animal' version of the DC19TC?0

Indeed, you need to use the turbine head to dislodge pet hairs from carpet, and the conventional head on laminate floors.
Presumably the suction appears adequate.
If its faulty then you would be entitled to a replacement, in which case I can thoroughly recommend a Meile Cat and Dog.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Nope - didn't buy the Animal version and it does not have the turbine head. Didn't specifically buy a vacuum for the pets, I have three children too and just expect a vacumm to actually vacuum - where do I stand? Does not seem 'fit for purpose' if it does not actually pick up anything unless I scrub and scrub at the same area over and over!!0

P.S. Doesn't help I fell out with hubby over buying a new vacuum and he is now pleased to be saying 'I told you so'...LOL0

As a cat owner I can confirm that conventional vacuums won't pick up pet hair off carpet very efficiently, you would do better by rubbing over the carpet with a marigold glove and picking up the rolled up hair that way.
IIWY I go back to PC Dixon's Curry World, and blag a turbo head off them, or a least get a good discount, 'cos you told them about your pets when you bought it!
The only difference between the Animal and non animal versions being the turbo head.
This is what you need:-

If its not sucking as well as usual try following this:

JUst doesn't seem to pick up anything much on any surface!!!
MY 10 yr old upright Dyson has been fantastic - really disappointed in this one.
Can I demand a replacement (different vacuum) as this one is totally unfit??0 -
Perhaps you have a faulty one, so just ask for a replacement. If it STILL doesn't work, keep taking it back until you get one that works, or get a refund.
My animal dyson is brilliant, and picks up all doggy hairs!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
